A Centre for Green Cities

Launched last June, the Centre for Green Cities (CGC) is a showcase for innovative ideas, technologies and solutions that address our most critical environmental challenges.
As part of this initiative, Evergreen will unveil its Profiles of Innovation, a series of online video profiles and site displays that will feature organizations and individuals at the cutting-edge of green innovation. The profiles will highlight positive developments in transportation, green building, water conservation, waste management, food production and land use. We’ll launch the series featuring two of our site partners at Evergreen Brick Works: Better Place and Fifth Light.
We will also present a series of Expos over the next five years, each engaging a diverse group of communities in a lively conversation about urban sustainability. The first in the series, MOVE (May–October 2012) will showcase the past, present and future of transportation, both locally and globally, in multi-media installations and a suite of conferences and seminars.
Most recently, on September 29, Evergreen’s third annual Brick Works Forum, Mapping the Sustainable City, was the inaugural event in the Centre for Green Cities calendar. A sold-out success, the forum will be a cornerstone event for CGC going forward.
Keep an eye out for more CGC news and initiatives coming soon, such as the Living Lab and new projects developed in collaboration with regional, national and international partners.
