Breaking news from the pasture: Heritage turkey update

Grassroot Organics’ Heritage turkeys almost all grown up!

You may remember a story we posted this past September about the heritage turkeys that Laura Boyd at Grassroot Organics, one of our Farmers’ Market vendors, has been raising for the holidays. Last week, we received an an update that the turkeys are finishing up nicely!

They've had a short but sweet pastoral life and are almost ready for your holiday feast. They have been raised on pasture supplemented with a local non-GMO grain and will be finished with a local non-GMO corn. Thanks to those of you who have already placed your deposits and booked your turkeys!

If you missed the first announcement, not to worry, there are still some turkeys available—place your order soon with Grassroot Organics at (705) 439-3372 to avoid disappointment.

Turkey pickups will take place at EBW on Thursday, December 22, between 4 and 6pm. Turkeys are $5.50/lb. If you’re not able to make it then, alternative arrangements can be made with our friends over at Sausage Partners in Leslieville.
