MOVE: The transportation expo charrette

MOVE? What’s MOVE? And what’s a “charrette” for that matter?
Well, next year MOVE will explore the past, present and future of urban transportation in a multi-sensory exposition, to be hosted at Evergreen Brick Works from May–October, 2012.
But starting this weekend, MOVE is a charrette—a brewing brainstorm of creative experts and impassioned amateurs from a wide range of backgrounds. The thoughts and engaging discussions at these charrettes will form the basis for the forward-looking content at next year’s exposition.
Brought together by Evergreen and the Institute without Boundaries (IwB), this diverse group of charrette participants will be split into 10 interdisciplinary teams, each addressing a different transportation challenge faced by cities around the world. Drawing inspiration from international case studies and best practices, the teams will explore issues such as energy, environment, health, land use and infrastructure as they relate to a sustainable transportation future.
Join the conversation—be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter over the next two days.
And of course, visit the MOVE website regularly for news and updates as we gear up for the expo next spring.
