Award-winning building and an award-winning team
Evergreen Brick Works is not only home to fun and educational programs about environmental sustainability, but also to a community of organizations who are committed to advancing new ideas and engaging the public around environmental and social issues.
We’re happy to announce that one of our tenants, Timberland Canada, has recently been awarded the Carden Welsh Award for Environmental Excellence. We are even more thrilled to share that a driving factor behind their receiving this award was Timberland’s move to Evergreen Brick Works. As a LEED Platinum-designed building, the Centre for Green Cities features many energy and water saving technologies. These resource savings, as well as other initiatives led by the company, have enabled Timberland Canada to significantly reduce its environmental footprint in 2011 and beyond.
Timberland Canada has donated the prize money for this award to the Campaign for Evergreen Brick Works. We are grateful for their support as we continue to build this community environmental centre where we can all be inspired to live, work and play more sustainably.
