Evergreen honours the Michael Young Family Foundation at the AFP Awards
In November 2011, members of the Evergreen team were thrilled to honour The Michael Young Family Foundation, and its trustees Robin and David Young, with the Outstanding Foundation Award, presented at the annual Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Award Luncheon.
Robin and David’s early landmark investment in the Campaign for Evergreen Brick Works set this entire project in motion. Their visionary philanthropy set the stage for Evergreen Brick Works to become a vibrant public space where culture and heritage meet science and innovation; a venue for school and community groups to connect with the natural landscape; and a place where government, business and industry leaders learn best practices in sustainable design. When asked to reflect on his support for the project, David is unequivocal: “Evergreen Brick Works is one of the best investments I have ever made.”
On behalf the Evergreen staff, volunteers and the thousands of community members who enjoy Evergreen Brick Works, thank you Robin and David for your role in bringing this vision to life.
